Post Christmas

Well, Christmas has come and gone. We had Ryan's parents and sister come to Michigan for a week. We had a good time, but couldn't go to many places...SNOW, SNOW, SNOW constantly and soooo cold. Here are some pictures of the fun we did have and the gifts we recieved.

Decorating for Christmas

We get pretty antsy around here when it comes to decorating for Christmas. If it were up to Ryan, we would have out decorations up early November. We started to decorate the night before Thanksgiving. We like to listen to Christmas music and set things up. So fun! Here are pictures of the kids putting up their stockings. They had a blast decorating. They, of course, wanted to get out everything and play with everything. It makes you miss being a kid when it comes to the holidays. We also got a new outdoor decoration, thanks to the Roberts. The kids love their new chubby penguin. He is really cute.

First Snow

Logan

Jordan

Kaden
Well, we had our first snow fall the other night. The Girls couldn't wait to get out and play in the snow. So when daddy got home from work, he took them out before it got too dark and too cold. Ryan was able to put all 3 kids on the sled and pull them around. Then they finished the night with a giant snowball to bring inside and eat. I missed out on this growing up in California. What fun!

Couples Night

We are so lucky to have the Girls in a great Pre Schol program and even more lucky to have such great parents. We decided to all get together, WITHOUT, the kids and have a couples date night. We all actually were able to get sitters and do it. We went out to dinner at Wild Buffalo Wings, then we all came back to my house and played Bunco and Pictionary. I had so much fun that night. I haven't laughed so much like that in a long time. What great therapy! Laughter is great! It was also nice to not just have a Girls night, but to actually have the guys involved. We offered to take their pictures, but they thought that would be too gay. They are so cool and all! :)
So here are the Girls. Man, I look like a giant next to these gals. I just noticed that. Anyways, what fun!!! Can't wait to do it again! Thanks Wendy for planning a great night!

Blanket Love

Blankets and Binkys are big in our house. Logan and Jordan carry their blankets around quite a bit and have to sleep with them and want them when they are sad ro sick. I wish they were blankets that I made or someone special made. Instead, they are just Wal Mart blankets I bought them when they were babies. Kaden has started to do this as well. Only his blanket was made by his Nana. He loves to carry his around and really loves to tackle it and lay on it. It is so sweet. It is actually nice for my kids to love something so much, because it makes it easier to take binkys away. The way I got the Girls to get rid of their binkys was to push the blanket and one stuffed animal on them. I made them sleep with the same ones every time and let them ride in the car with them, etc. This way, their comfort item shifted from the binky to those two things. So if any of you have a hard time getting rid of the binky habit, try this. It has worked for 2 out of my 3. I will enforce it on Kaden when the time is right.

First Hair Cut

Well, I decided that the wings of hair on the top of Kadens ears had to go. He was about to take off! I want to let it grow out to be long and cool, but a trim around the ears was a must. Here is my sweet boy getting his hair trimmed now.
Kaden is so funny. In the morning, I sit the Girls in a chair to do their hair. When I am done with them, he always jumps in the chair for his turn. So I comb his blonds locks a little to make him feel a part of the hair do session. He is so funny. Love him to death!!!

Fun With Grandma

Logan and Jordan gutting their pumpkins
Logan and Grandma...I never get Logan to smile like this!!!

Making Halloween sugar cookies

I thought I would post some of the things we did with Grandma. My poor mom was here for the past two weeks. Our family was sick off and on the whole time. I am lucky to have such a great mom. We have so much fun together and she was a lot of help while she was here.
Thanks for everything mom!

Halloween Witches (and turtle)

My Mom has been here for the past week or so and made sure she was gonna be here long enough to spend her favorite holiday with her grandchildren. Every year since I was a tot, my mom has dressed up for halloween. She not only dresses up like a specific person or character, but she goes all out! She still scares kids when she is in character! I will have to post some of her other halloween costume years later. She is great. Anyways, here we all are as witches, except for Kaden. The Girls origionally wanted to be dalmations and Grandma was gonna bring her Cruella d' Ville costume, but they were all too expensive. So "Good old Wal Mart" came to the rescue again. They had these witch costumes and I loved them. I pulled it out and showed the Girls and they liked them. Then I noticed that the skirt part even lights up, so that was the deal breaker right there for all of us. We knew that I had a witch costume already and that Grandma did as well, so we knew we could all be witches together.

Here is Kaden "The Turtle". I fell in love with this costume when I saw it, so I splurged and got it. He isn't wearing his hat, because it really wasn't cold. You can see him in it in the first group picture though. It was like 70 deg. and beautiful. It was the perfect weather for Halloween trick or treating!

Kaden again, loving the trick or treating!

Every once in a while this black cat will raom into our yard and of course it had to stop by for a visit on Halloween. If you are supersticious, this isn't a good thing. The Girls love that cat!

Here is my mom and I. Notice my mom is in character here! She is so weird and I love her!
It was a great night. Jordan's leg wasn't bothering her and my kids were on the uphill swing of things as far as the sickness went.
