Spring Break 2017

This spring break we decided to go to Cancun Mexico. We actually spent our time and stayed in Playa Del Carmen but flew into Cancun. OMG, the water was breathtaking! I have never seen such beautiful water and the white soft sand was amazing! We spent 4 1/2 days there. Two of the days were spent at our resort playing on the beach and pool and eating at the bar along the ocean. One of the other days was spent shopping along the main drag. It went on and on and on. We also drove to Talum to see the ruins. We didn't stay too long there because the kids were hot and sunburned from the first day. We then hopped on a boat and took a short ride to the beach side of the ruins then on over to a snorkeling bay. While snorkeling, we saw turtles and sting rays. That was my favorite part of the trip. The kids and Ryans favorite day was when we went to Xel Ha. It was basically a water amusement park without the water slides. LOL! There were small zip lines, a lazy river ride in tubes, cliff jumps, Cenotes (underground caves to swim in), etc. We even swam with dolphins. Our friends, the Shanks joined us. It was a good time, but from now on we decided to go on these special trips with just family. I missed out on the family time by going with others. Still a great time and great memories were created! We won't miss hearing people ask for "Tips", us asking... "Donde Esta El Bano", the driving is crazy, there are a ton of "Topes" (speed bumps). We rented a 15 passenger van so we could all be together. It was a crappy van, so we called it "The Big Rolling Terd". LOL good times.
Poor Kaden got so burnt the first day. Us parents goofed!

Kids BBall

Thought I would post a picture of the kids basketball teams from this season. Girls "The Blitz", have been together now for 3 years. Hoping for one more year together. Kaden played on his first Club/AAU team "The Ballers".

Valentines Dinner

We had our annual family Valentines Day Pink and Red dinner. Every Valentines, we keep the same color theme and make meatloaf along with other side dishes we can make pink or red. Its always fun and we all enjoy this tradition.

Christmas 2016

I was looking forward to this Christmas. Last Christmas, we had just moved into our new house and I had a house full of guests. House wasn't totally put together yet, so it was a little stressful to have a house-full, but his year was great! Aunt Jean and Grandma and Grandpa came to our place like usual. We played lots of games, got some great gifts and enjoyed spending time together. We even went to Christmas Eve church service, which we haven't really done in the past. I am so glad we went. I really enjoyed it! I plan on going from now on.

Girls finally got cell phones and Kaden a Gizmo

Well, we did it. We got a cat. Ryan and I for years said we would never buy a cat. On the 4th of July, there was a cat lost, so we took it in for a couple days till we found its owner. We kinda realized a cat might not be so bad after all. So we waited for our friends mama cat to have kittens. We got first pick. We told the kids that it was going to be an outside cat. Well the cat went from never stepping food into the house to only being in for a few minutes to a couple hours to getting a litter box inside and letting it stay inside all day. He does sleep in the garage though. He will go outside more once it gets warmer. His name is Archie. He is a cutie and we love watching him play with Brody.

Winter Wonderland

This winter ended up being almost a record breaker. Twin Falls/Boise Idaho hasn't seen snow like this since the 1990's. It was incredible how much we got. We went about 3 months straight with some sort of snow being on the ground. It was beautiful and fun at first, but got real old quick! The drifts here in Twin Falls makes snow piles even worse. Several school snow days this year as well.

Family Photos 2016

I like to get our family photos taken about every other year. It was time to take them again this year for Christmas cards, etc. These are our first family photos in our new house. Love the natural scenery of our backyard! Logan and Jordan are 12 and Kaden is 9.
