Winter/Christmas 2014

For Christmas this year, Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Jean came. We had a fun time. We went up to Sun Valley for a day and took a sleigh ride, ate lunch and shopped a bit. It was Aunt Jeans first time up there. We played lots of games, including two new games they got for Christmas; Clue and Heads Up. We drove around to look at Christmas lights. Took Aunt Jean to her favorite restaurant, Cafe Rio. The kids main gifts this year were Legos from Grandma and Grandpa, Football Blankets made by Nana, Camo Jackets from Daddy, Blog Books from myself, Wii Skylander Game, Leap Frog Watch for Kaden and a Kindle Fire for the Girls The day after Christmas everyone left for Boise, including ourselves, minus. Ryan. He had to work. We went to Nana and Papa's for a family celebration. Most the brothers and sisters were there. Just Ryan and Jon were missing. The kids had a blast playing with their cousins. Kids went sledding in their backyard, adults did crafts, etc. A fun time for sure.

Fall/Pumpkin Patch

We went to Linder Farms Pumpkin Patch in Meridian with Grandma this year. Kids did all kinds of things. The Girls Ziplined, we walked through a HUGE Boise state corn maze, petting zoo, hay ride, etc. We even went on a Zombie ride. That was quite the experience. What you do is watch a video about zombies, purchase your paint pellets and get onto an old decorated school buss parked out in the corn maze. On our way to the bus, a person dressed like a zombie grabbed Grandmas leg to scare us. As soon as we got on the bus all 3 kids were freaked out. There were paint pellet guns attached to bus on one side and empty seats on the other. All 3 kids wanted to stay far away from the guns, especially Logan and Kaden. Jordan eventually came over and shot at the zombies. This was a 20 min. ride through the corn field with zombie stations set up. high school kids dressed up like zombies walk up to your bus hitting it and touching your guns, trying to scare everyone, of course. Jordan stayed, but the other two were on the floor burying their heads and ears under their hands. We actually stopped the buss half way through it so Logan and Kaden could get off the bus and head back zombie free. Grandma and Jordan stayed on. It was fun, but was way too scary for out kids. They really wanted to do it, but didn't realize what they were getting themselves into. I love the fall. Pumpkin Patches are so much fun for kids!

Halloween 2014

This Halloween. Grandma, Grandpa, Ryan and I were all Minions. East costumes to play in our annual golf night at Blue Lakes. We played the best we've played together in a long time. A lot of fun. We added ghost lights to our golf carts this year. We looked pretty cool! Logan was a Flamingo, Jordan was a Wizard and Kaden was a Grim Reaper. We trick or treated with the Clarks and Harmon's again. I sure do love Halloween!

Thoughtful Logan

Last night Jordan was down on herself while she was doing her homework. She was crying and crying. A few min. later Logan entered the room with a piece of paper. It said, "You can do it Jordan!" "You're the best!" "You got this!" This put a huge smile on Jordan's face! It was just what Jordan needed. Love when my kids think of others. Love you Logi Smogi! Thanks for making your sister feel better!

Million Dollar Question

The Girls are in 5th grade this year. Since school has started, two weeks ago, a child has been crying while doing homework. It has mostly been Jordan. She is so emotional and hard on herself. She sees her homework and freaks if something looks hard or she makes a mistake. I have said everything I could say to try and help her get through this, except for one thing. While putting her to bed a couple nights ago, I told her that if she was giving everything she could and doing her best and things still weren't going her way and the tears keep coming to ask God for help. I told her that when times are tough and I am lost and don't know what else to do or need to change the way I feel or look at something that I say a prayer. I ask God for help, because we can't do it all on our own. She then responded with the common, Million Dollar Question; "How do I know when God is answering my prayers?" Oh boy, how do I answer this is what went through my head. I did give her an answer that I feel was a good one, but it is such a hard thing to talk about. In the end, it was a good talk and she felt better. I hope she remembers to give it up to God in the future! Love you Jo Jo! You are so smart! You can do it!
