The kids watching a movie and eating popcorn...sick!
Jordan in her "sick hat" as she calls it.
Logan with her icky eye.
Kaden's poor eyes!
I know you are all wondering what the heck is that???? Well, a week ago my mom arrived. We had a lot of big plans, but many of those plans had to be put off. The kids have been sick with colds, etc for the past few days, then two days ago Jordan got some red marks on her legs and began complaining about leg pains out of the blue. I told Ryan about these symptoms, so when he came home he diagnosed her with Henoch-Schnlein purpura. I decided to take all 3 kids into the doctor to find out for sure what was going on. To make a long story short, we left the doctors office with 3 prescriptions for 3 kids. All 3 kids had sinus and ear infections, Logan and Kaden had conjunctivitus in the eyes and Jordan had, just what Dr. Ryan Roberts said she had, HSP. The above picture is what it can look like, but Jordans case is a bit milder.
What are symptoms of HSP?
Classically, HSP causes skin rash, pain in the abdomen, and joint inflammation (arthritis). Not all features need be present for the diagnosis. The rash of skin lesions appears in gravity-dependent areas, such as the legs. The joints most frequently affected with pain and swelling are the ankles and the knees. Patients with HSP can develop fever. Inflammation of the blood vessels in the kidneys can cause blood and/or protein in the urine. Serious kidney complications are infrequent but can occur.
Jordan's pain is in her knee area and limps around right now. Hopefully it will go away soon.
We hope the kids will be all better for Halloween!!!!
The kids have been watching ALOT of movies, well actually, I rented Peter Pan and they have been watching it for the past 5 days. They love that movie! Here are some pictures of my poor kids!
p.s. keep Jordan in your prayers please!

That is just plain rotten. Poor kidos. I guess that Dr. of yours is a keeper after all!
That stinks that they are all sick and with multiple things. Poor kids. I hope you had a great time with your mom anyway.
allison, so sorry they are all sick. It seems when one gets it, they all do. Just wait until they are in school. we will keep little jordan in our prayers. Is it contagious?
Poor sweeties! I will definitely be thinking of you guys! By the way, how does one get HSP? Maybe I should quiz my hubby!! :)
I will definitely keep Jordan in our prayers, as well as all your kiddos. That is so not fun to have a house full of sick kids. I hope they get feeling better for Halloween!!! And what a smart husband you have to diagnose Jordan. :)
Thanks everyone...Ya I know Ryan is a goofball, but he does have some smarts up there! Don't let him fool ya!
Tiffany, it is caused from an after math of viral infections...sinus infections, cold, etc. It is very rare.
Hug them for me...since we all know I am staying far away from "the germ fest" (thanks Brad). Take care of yourself too!
Oh, I'm so sad for you! I'm feeling your pain and it's miserable when kids are sick. I just love looking at pics of Kaden. He and Porter look so much alike, I guess that's expected when they're 2 days apart, huh? Mine have all had the head crud and sickness going through the house the last few weeks so I'm really feeling for you. How handy you have a doc in the house, though.. :). Get well soon, talk to you later!
What a crazy deal. Sorry to hear your whole gang was sick. Fun Halloween costumes and to have your mom dress up...what a hoot.
I hope they are all doing WAY better. How sad. It was probably nice to have your mom there to help snuggle kids. My kids always need a good snuggle when sick. Sick kids can be so physically and emotionally exhausting.
