Out with the old, In with the NEW!

Okay, so Ryan and I have done a lot to update our home, but the last thing to do was our UGLY kitchen. We knew we would be here for 4 years and wanted to do something with it during that time. The only thing that was holding this 70's home back from looking current and modern was the kitchen. So we said, screw it, even though we don't have the money right now, we can do the Home Depot...no payments or interest for a year. So we went with it. All of Ryan's first moonlighting shifts will go towards that. To save money, Ryan did a lot of the work himself. He gutted the kitchen, he installed the lower cabinets, he installed the countertops and installed all the appliances. Home Depot did the rest. The most expensive part was the electrical...WOW was this house in need of an update. The electrician pretty much said this was about as bad as it could get. So I feel much safer now! Anyways, here is our before and after shots of our kitchen. The biggest improvement is the doorway. We moved the frige to the other side to open up that doorway...SOOOO nice! I couldn't hardly get my laundry basket through. We also got rid of the soffit, so now we have plant shelves up above.

We love out new kitchen. Hopefully the economy will get better so we can sale it easy!!!!!
