Well, This weekend wasn't the best of all weekends. Before I tell the situation, I do want to say I am sorry for those suffering in Texas from Hurricane Ike, but I do want to tell my story. On Saturday, the kids and I went to our "Sub Fest", which was a get together will the neighbors. We had dinner, there was a bike decorating contest and parade, a coloring contest and water balloon toss for the kids. All of this took place in the pooring rain, partly under a tent, for 3 hours without Ryan. He was in Ohio for testing. Then we went home took warm baths, then put the kids to bed. I was exhausted from the day, because I am on the neighborhood board and I had to get everything ready for the event prior. So by the end of the day, I was spent!
Wait it gets worse...
Then, just after I got everything cleaned up and dishes done, I was gonna check my email one last time for the day, then go relax on the couch. It didn't quite work out that way. I walked downstairs to do the email thing and found our basement under an inch of water. To make a long story short, I began to pick up our belongings to get them out of the water, while Ryan was on his way home. Once he got home, we had our awesome friends come help get the water out. Once we got the water under control at 1:00 in the morning, we went to bed. The next day things were still good, but soon got worse. At 2:00 p.m the whole family decided to take a nap. When we woke up from out nap at 4:00 p.m. Ryan decided to walk down to check the basement again, because it was till raining outside. He walked down and our basement was now under 2 in. of water. In some paces, 4 in. of water. We again had our awesome friends over to help clean it all up again. We again went to bed at 1:00 in the morning.
As you can see, the kids sure had a blast!
Today, we talked to the insurance and we pray they cover most everything. We will see, because you know how that goes. Anyways, it wasn't the best of weekends, but again, like I said in the beginning, we could have been in Texas.
